One Day in Paris – A mesmerizing day trip to Paris in Spring

Do you want your trip to Paris to be memorable and magical? Well, in that case, the best time to visit Paris is in Spring. It is the best time of the year to visit this romantic place. The weather is cold in Paris during Spring, but the interesting part is that the entire city is blooming during this time.

You will get to see beautiful flowers in Spring. I always recommend everyone to visit Paris at this time of year. What I feel is that you can rejoice every moment here because you will not find a lot of crowd in Paris at this time.

Now, I will give you a handy guideline for a one-day trip so that you can go for your trip well-prepared.

GETTING PREPARED FOR THE RAINY WEATHER

Whenever I visit Paris in the spring-time, I make it a point take my umbrella along. You will not want to get sick because this can ruin your trip. The average temperature is about 47-degree Fahrenheit during the month of March.

The temperature reaches 52-degree Fahrenheit during the month of April. The weather is not extremely cold, but you still need to have the right clothing. Make sure that you carry your coat, hat, and gloves with you. Do not miss out on the waterproof shoes also.

If you are on a strict budget, then Spring is the best time to visit Paris. The reason is that the transportation prices are less during this season. Plus, the flight charges are also less during the Spring-time.

ESSENTIALS TO TAKE ALONG

You should not miss out on the fleeced line leggings. Ideally, you should take about two pairs with you. Well, this rule holds true for both guys and girls. The best part is that these leggings will not occupy a lot of space in your luggage.

You and your family should not miss out on the thermal tops as they will help you keep you extra warm. Do not miss out on your beret also because it will help to keep you extra-warm.

TAKING THE BEST ROUTE TO PARIS

You need to have adequate knowledge about the airports if you want to fly to Paris. Charles De Gaulle Airport is the main airport located in Paris. Another airport is Paris Orly. I usually fly to Paris Orly, and I take a bus to the city center.
Well, this is less hectic for me because it takes me about 15 to 20 minutes to reach the city center. However, you can travel to Charles De Gaulle Airport also. You can take an Uber or a private taxi. You can take the RER train or the bus from here.
I personally recommend that you should not take the RER train since it has a lot of transfers, and you have a lot of luggage with you. I am making this suggestion because I want to save you from hassle and tiresome journeys.

THINGS YOU SHOULD DO IN PARIS

When you decide to visit Paris, then you should leave no stone unturned to make the most of your trip. It will be a smart idea to schedule a trip to a museum. One of the best museums to visit is the Louvre.
Make sure that you go for a timed entrance ticket so that you do not have to wait for hours together for your turn. The museum is a real classic, and you spend about three hours exploring the museum.
The reason is that there is so much to see in this museum. You come across The Winged Victory of Samothrace. The interesting part is that it is the oldest statue in the world, and it is one of the original Greek statues. Now, only a fraction of these statues is present today.

When you visit the Louvre Museum you will enjoy looking at the painting by Theodore Gericault. It perfectly defines the French romantism movement known as the Raft of the Medusa.
If you love Art and History, then you should not miss out on yet another painting. It is called the Coronation of Napoleon. There is no denying the fact that the painting is one of the highlights of the Louvre Museum. It measures about 33 feet by 20 feet.
The history behind the painting is that the piece of art was commissioned by the Little General himself, and his official painter painted it.

Musee l’Orangerie is located close to the Louvre. It is a perfect place for the art lovers. Monet’s eight-piece Water Lilies series personify the beautiful shades of spring, and you will love to set your eyes on these lilies.

Exploring the Catacombs

If you are looking in for a combo of fun and adventure, then you must visit the Catacombs too. It is located underground. It is a mass tomb, and it is one of the key attractions in Paris. Whenever I visit Paris, I cannot resist visiting this tomb.
There is an interesting history behind the Catacombs. When Paris grew into the European hub it faced a major issue. By 17th century, the Paris cemeteries were overflowing. Well, the concept of the Catacombs emerged at this point. The solution to the overflowing cemeteries was to place the bodies in the centuries old tunnels that existed beneath the streets of Paris.

I am addicted to literature, and so is my wife. We both love Shakespeare, and this is why we make it a point to visit Shakespeare & Company. The store has loads of wonderful books. I recommend that you spend a few hours in the reading room.

Getting hold of some of the antiques

Even if you are going for a single day in Paris, you should ensure the fact that you visit the antique shops there. It will be a great idea to take back some of the souvenirs from these shops.
If you are a food lover, then I have some great news for you. Every cuisine is available in Paris. Now, I know that it is difficult for you to dig out the restaurants in just a day. To make things easier for you I will let you know about the restaurants that I visited.
